 Spelling: Words Their Way
This year our district is taking a new approach that will help to improve our students spelling. In this new approach students will have spelling words that are specifically designed for them at their level. Every Friday your child will be given a new set of words that focus on certain word features in a word. This will give the students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new words. At the start of each week students will work together in small groups to read, sort and write the words while looking for common features within the words. They will also have homework Mon-Thurs. to help reinforce the word features that are being used in each word.
