SUPERINTENDENT'S OFFICE
Welcome to the Maple Heights City School District
SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE: March 16, 2023
Dear Maple Heights Families and Community Members,
It is hard to believe that only nine weeks are left in the school year. As we look ahead, we are kicking off our Hopes & Dreams Tour, the Community Resource Room is busy helping our families, and the Maple Heights City School Board approved renovations to our football field, track, and upgrades to the Wiley building.
We are asking our parents, staff, and community members to join us for Our Hopes & Dreams Tour as we lay a foundation of excellence. Our District is committed to student wellness, academic excellence, and security. We know that we need to include the voices of our stakeholders. We are asking our stakeholders to join us at one of the five community meetings that will take place in the District in April and May.
In addition . . .
The Community Resource Room, open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am - 3 pm, is helping our community close the gap of the in-between times. The team will host several events during the remainder of the school year to help teach, support, lift, and grow our community.
The community baby shower will occur at Lincoln Elementary School on March 18, 2023.
Our Parent & Community Summit will be held on April 22, 2023, at Maple Heights Library.
Our Senior (50 years and older) Prom for adults will occur in May.
In February, the Maple Heights City School Board approved using funds to replace the turf and field at an estimated $870,570. The Board also approved a $126,000 renovation project for a High School Student Homework/Student Resource Center and a technology renovation project. The Student Resource Center will be housed in the old band room in the A/C building. We will not use any general funds for this project.
We are building on our mission statement: "Educating our students through expectations of excellence to prepare them for a lifetime of success." As we continue to develop, we hope that all of our stakeholders take part by lending their voices and becoming active participants in our community because we know that our success and excellence depend on the active participation of our stakeholders.
Sincerely,
Charles T. Keenan
