At the June 6 board meeting, the Maple Heights School Board approved new start and end times for Maple Heights High School, Milkovich Middle School, and Barack Obama Elementary School.
Dr. Price, principal of Maple Heights High School, and Mr. Niamke, the Maple Heights City Schools Business Manager and Food Services Director, presented to the Board the recommendations of the Start and End Time Committee.
The next school year's school schedules are as follows:
Milkovich Middle School, 8:00 a.m. - 2:55 p.m. (6 hours, 55 Minutes; 16-minute reduction); and
Maple Heights High School, 8:15 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. (6 hours, 55 Minutes; 15-minute reduction).
Although the committee's work was not focused on the elementary schools, there will also be a change to the Barack Obama Elementary School times. This change will align their overall school time with Lincoln and Kennedy (6 hours, 50 minutes):
Barack Obama Elementary School, 8:20 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. (4-minute reduction).
