7/23/21 MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Dear Maple Heights Families, I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation. As we approach the beginning of a new school year, we want to assure you that we are committed to the safety and well-being of our staff and students. We continue to monitor and follow the COVID-19 guidelines from the various governmental agencies, as well as review recommendations from other health experts. As we learned over the last 16 months, the guidance we receive can change frequently depending on the data. As of July 21, 2021, all districts in Ohio have been told that it is safe to return to in-person learning while following safety precautions. The first day of school is August 16. In the next two weeks, we will receive additional recommendations from the Ohio Board of Health and Cuyahoga County Board of Health on reopening our schools. While their recommendations will not dictate our plan, it is important that we review this information before providing our preliminary guidelines and procedures on health safety. This will minimize confusion in our school community. We anticipate sharing that information with staff and families sometime during the first week of August. We are excited to begin the 2021-22 school year and look forward to working with all of you to provide the highest quality education possible for our children.
