The Office of Curriculum & Instruction oversees curriculum, instruction, assessment, and accountability of the District’s educational programs. Current District teaching and learning initiatives include the use of formative assessments to guide instruction, closing the achievement gap within student sub-groups, providing instructional staff with a systematic method of student assessment analysis, and the development of instructional strategies to help all students achieve high levels of learning through high-quality teacher professional development. Additionally, we strive to promote, implement, and support research-based practices for instructional leadership and teaching designed to provide meaningful and engaging student learning.

Essentials of Curriculum:
The Ohio Improvement Process has created a climate of shared vision and leadership for student achievement in conjunction with the District strategic plan. All instruction in the District is aligned with the state academic content standards. Academic Content Standards describe the knowledge and skills students should attain, often called the “what” students should know and do. They indicate the ways of thinking, working, communicating, reasoning, investigating, and important ideas, concepts, issues, and knowledge essential to each subject.
