Welcome from the Principal
Greetings Maple Heights High School Family!
My name is Dr. Markiel Perkins. I am your Maple Heights High School principal. I am as always humbled and honored to serve as your school leader. I am looking forward to the new school year and I appreciate the support and warm welcome I have received from everyone in my first year! Please know, I will spend every waking moment to ensure MHHS is a safe, engaging, and a fun school for our scholars and our community.
We will need your guidance and help in achieving this vision. We have a parent advisory group starting in September and I am asking motivated parents to participate in assisting us as we continue to make our school even stronger through public participation. If anyone is interested can contact me via email at markiel.perkins@mapleschools.com.
Families, our focus this year will be making sure our young men and young women are in school, on time to school and class, and that we have a school community built on trust and love. Our district has adopted Yondr Pouches to secure cell phones, air pods, airbuds, and smart watches during school hours. Any communications during school should go through our main office and grade offices.
In addition to new personal communication devices policy, I wanted to share a few reminders as the school year begins.
-Please update final forms with the correct contact information so you can receive pertinent information in a timely manner.
-For safety reasons, a parent or a designated emergency contact (identified in Final Forms) must come into the building before 2:30 pm. to pick up your child from school early.
-Students must have school issued ID with them in school and for all extra curricular activities.
-No facial or head coverings are permitted without permission from an administrator.
-As noted in our student code of conduct the dress code will be enforced this year. Please be informed about our district policy. It can be found here: Student Code of Conduct
Finally, we will continue to focus on Mustang P.R.I.D.E. (Prepared, Respectful, Invested, Determined, and Engaged) as our foundation for everything we do. Again, thank you, and I hope to see you all very soon.
Go Mustangs!
Sincerely Yours,
Dr. Markiel J. Perkins, Ed.D., Maple Heights High School Principal
