Della Flora

Maple Heights, Ohio (June 10, 2024) - The Maple Heights City School Board has concluded its search for a new superintendent, selecting Olympia A. Della Flora to lead the district.

The selection process involved extensive community engagement, with input sought from students, teachers, staff, parents, and community leaders. Board members believe Ms. Della Flora's experience and proven leadership make her the ideal candidate to guide Maple Heights City Schools.

Ms. Della Flora comes to Maple Heights with a distinguished career in education. Most recently, she served as superintendent of Marion City Schools. Before that, she spent four years with Stamford Public Schools as the Associate Superintendent for School Development, overseeing alternative education programs and professional development for a large district of 16,000 students and 2,000 staff.

Her leadership shines particularly bright as Principal of Ohio Avenue Elementary School in the Columbus City School District. There, she spearheaded a successful turnaround of a low-performing school. Her innovative approach included implementing trauma-informed practices, establishing a school-based health center for medical and mental health support, and earning recognition as an ASCD Emerging Leader.

The Maple Heights City School Board and District are excited to welcome Ms. Della Flora. They are confident her commitment to student achievement, proven track record of success, and community engagement will propel the district forward.
