The Maple Heights City School District welcomes the new band director, Nicholas Harper. Harper is a native of Toledo, OH, and has served the Toledo community in various ways. As a musician with 20 years of experience, Harper served as an arranger for the Jesup. W. Scott High School Marching Band for 16 years and Assistant Band Director for 1 year. His skills are best presented in arranging, music theory, creating competition-style field shows, and conducting. Harper's music styles range from classical, film, and jazz to R&B, Hip Hop, and gospel. Harper is also a licensed minister and has served as Associate Minister and Minister of Music for various churches in the Toledo community. Harper served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. Mr. Harper is also the Founder and CEO of Eden Couture.
Harper studied Music Education at the University of Toledo and received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Lourdes University. He also completed a Master Tailoring apprenticeship under the instruction of Master Tailor Irvin Arnold Sr.
Mr. Harper’s hobbies include cooking, painting, and sewing. When he wants to unwind from working too much, he spends time with his family, especially his beautiful children. Being with family gives him a sense of beautiful peace.
